Disney Park vacations require a lot of walking. A LOT! I think it is safe to expect to walk at least 20,000 steps a day if you arrive early and stay late. By the 3rd or 4th day of walking, your feet may be begging for a break. Here are some of our favorite ways to rest our feet while still enjoying the Disney magic.

Enjoy a Grand Circle Tour - Walt Disney had a passion for trains and you can hop aboard one of the authentic steam-powered trains for a Grand Circle Tour around Disneyland. This trip lasts just under 20 minutes and provides an excellent opportunity to rest your feet, your eyes, or both. You will travel along the banks of the Rivers of America as you make your way towards the Grand Canyon and the Land of the Dinosaurs. That's right, this trip lets you see a thrilling prehistoric land where Audio-Animatronic dinosaurs come to life. There are 4 train stations making this a convenient way to move around the park. Ride as often as you like and hop on/off at any of the stations: Main Street, U.S.A., New Orleans Square, Mickey's Toontown and Tomorrowland. Trains depart from each station approximately every 10 minutes.

Enjoy a exciting sail with pirates aboard Pirates of the Caribbean or join the happiest cruise that ever sailed on "it's a small world". Both attractions last approximately 15 minutes giving you an opportunity to enjoy the air conditioned environment while giving your feet a much needed rest. Be aware, you may be humming the tune from "it's a small world" for the rest of the day. Consider yourself warned.

Take a round trip 2.5 mile, 13 minute journey on the Disneyland Monorail. This high-speed, zero-emission transportation system has stations in Downtown Disney and Tomorrowland. When traveling from Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney, you can choose to either exit at the Downtown Disney station or stay on for a trip back to Tomorrowland.

Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island is a great place to let the kids run around while you sit and watch from a peaceful bench nearby. Rarely is the island crowded and there is a peacefulness that exists on the island that almost makes you forget that you are in the middle of a busy Disney theme park.
